Bonnie Parker is back in Skin in the Game. Bonnie has given up killing and is going straight (as straight as she can anyway) when her past catches up with her. Ever since giving up assassinations, the local cops have been hassling her about this and that, always waiting for her to slip up. They suspect that she has been involved in a lot of killing and just need some hard evidence. As the novel opens, Bonnie is investigating a wandering husband when she spies a younger woman observing her. She confronts the woman, Kyle Ridley, who is a drug mule for a vicious Albanian drug lord known as the Wolf. Kyle has made a mistake by keeping the Wolf's heroin and splitting. The Wolf is after her and she needs Bonnie's help to get away. Bonnie reluctantly agrees and Skin in the Game begins.Bonnie finds herself hunted by the Wolf, just as much as Kyle. In a series of twists and turns, Michael Prescott keeps the suspense chruning. I have been a Michael Prescott fan from the very beginning and he is one of only a handful of authors who has never disappointed me. There is probably no other author I look forward to seeing a new book by than Michael Prescott. Skin in the Game is not only the best of the Bonnie Parker novels, it is one of his very best books period. We learn about Bonnie's past and he fleshes out her character even more than in the previous novels.Skin in the Game is Michael Prescott at his very best and that is very good indeed. Well done Mr. Prescott, keep them coming!
