All games take a little time to learn and get used to, and this game is no different in that regard. I'd say it took us about 10 rounds before we were fully comfortable with the flow of the gameplay and all the ins & outs. The various strategies begin to reveal themselves the more you play. There's a good tutorial video online that can help, too.The game is played in "rounds", and before playing, the players agree on the number of rounds that will be considered a complete game. We usually play 5 rounds and then tally the scores to see who won. A round can take 1 minute or 20 minutes, you never know how it will play out.Overall, we enjoy the game very much. Due to its style of gameplay, it's a great game to go to when other games start to feel repetitive or boring.Just looked over it tonight. Have yet to play it with anyone else but I love it! It's simple, quick, and quite funny once you get the hang of it. The rules are incredibly straightforward and while I was confused at times actually using the cards cleared that up.Christmas gift for Holmes fansThis product is defective: the scoring pad is completely blank. I used to have a copy of this game, and this should not be the case. I ordered two of these to give as gifts to friends and will promptly be returning both because they both have this issue. Don't want to give gifts of an incomplete game!Great game and chalkengingSherlock Holmes The Card Game offers an easy to pick-up game which will see you trying to deceive your opponents as you attempt to give up your villain cards or at the very least pin the blame on someone else. The game is great fun, especially for smaller groups (3+ as a minimum though). The game itself is very well-packaged and of good quality, with especially thick cards which will surely last. Each player can also have a reminder card to keep them abreast of the rules and how each card will work. There could be slightly more variety in the locations on offer (although a minor point), as the same location cards frequently appear during gameplay. Generally though this is a well-thought out game.Overall I would recommend Sherlock Holmes The Card Game to those experienced board game players as well as those who want to try something a bit different from the norm.We got this game after playing it with my family over Christmas and we still love it. Took it to Scotland when we went to keep us occupied in the evenings and it had us laughing every night. The fact that games can either be really short or very long is brilliant and so much fun as it is a surprise every time.It can take a little while to understand what you are doing in the game but once you get it you will never forget.I really recommend this game to anyone, even if you're not a fan of Sherlock, you can have huge amounts of fun playing. This is quite an old game now but is actually a quite clever and engaging card game, particularly for slightly larger groups, and has left the family wanting to play multiple times one after the other. Each game is quite short really so it does not require you to have huge amounts of time, the set up is simple and quick and the space required is just a little table to place the cards. It is quite tactical in play really and, although you can play with just three people it lends itself far more to slightly bigger groups as it is more subtle working out where the criminal is as well as other special cards. A good game, well worth a try.A great game for anyone familiar with Sherlock or not. The aim of the game is to try and catch a player who is holding a villain card, whilst having the lowest number of points in your hand. There are a number of other cards, such as to move locations or provide an allibi. You can then play a number of rounds to see who can score the lowest points across them all.The rules can seem a little complicated, but make sense with time and there are some quick reference cards which can help. I would also say that it is better to play with more people, but it can still work with less.I bought his card game as a gift for a relative. Each card has instructions as to what moves (cards) are allowed to follow, plus there are separate instructions cards available. The object of the game is to catch the villain (I think there are 3 villain cards) . Some of the moves entitle the player to look at some of the cards held by another player. Other moves include re shuffling all the cards in play and redistributing amonstt the players.like many other games it Can be a bit confusing to start with.
