I bought this as a gift for my daughter. They are learning about money in class so I thought this might help. This is not the typical monopoly. In monopoly you have to buy properties then wait till you have them all and then buy houses. There is a lot of wheeling and dealing to get the properties you want and then you start building your empire. This game is dumbed down a lot. There is only one dollar bills. Once you buy a property it is marked as yours with a cardboard token of your character. You basically go around the board and buy everything that you land on and the first person that can't pay loses. This is similar to the original monopoly, but you couldn't always buy properties and had to strategize to win. Basically this game is going to be you roll then the next play and so on and buy everything. Then you will travel around the board a couple times and someone will not be able to pay the rent. No strategy, just some lucky dice rolling. I would not say that buying this is a mistake, it is just far from being monopoly and even being monopoly junior is a stretch, it is monopoly baby edition. My daughter did like it and she did have to count, but it was not as fun as some of the other games we purchased.
