...while another exceptional volume, and I'm sad to hear that #13 will be the final chapter of this amazing manga, I have to wonder how the author is going to tie up the ends. The main ingredient of any story series needs to be one enduring lead character. Aoba has been just that. We've watched her grow into a poised and confident young woman (though why she has not ditched the suit yet I don't know). We don't really get to know much about her burgeoning fame, but here is a person right on the edge of it, and yet she remains a sweet character. The story has been bringing the younger characters forward; Momo is finding herself, and seems to have gotten over her need to outshine Aoba and everyone else. Even Nenechi has shown maturity, but is still the office goofball. What is sad is that the ones who really helped drive the story are now in the background. Hifumi, Yun and Hajime are now really just there, and it's too bad. There's so much more for them to do; even the top people are now hanging around waiting for something to happen.Without giving it away, we also get the rivalry of two sisters, and the personal nature of that relationship has the potential to get ugly. Welcome to the working world; making games is like any other business. It is competitive, people's egos get bruised, and some get hurt.No matter what, this has been a wonderful story, that takes us out of the game center and beyond people's living rooms. This is how games are made, you work with different and downright crazy people, and you hope you grow, and keep the friends you make.I would also hope for some kind of resolution in some relationships. It's about time to see if Rin will finally tell Yagami what the latter is too clueless to get, and will Yun finally break down and tell Hajime how she really feels? All in all, the characters have been extremely well drawn, the artwork fits the moods, and it's been a great ride and an inspiration for my own work. I'm interested to see how this ends, or if the door is left open for more.
